PSAT Testing Next Week!
TSIA Testing for Dual Credit Applicants
If you are a 10th grader, and doing Collin College dual credit classes next year in 11th grade, you will need to take the TSI-A test. McMillen is offering the test here on Saturday, March 27. You must have taken the TSI-A test prior to April 30.
As a student who is interested in taking a dual credit course, you are required to show that you are ready for college-level work. Your readiness can be demonstrated by your SAT or ACT scores or by taking the TSIA (Texas Success Initiative Assessment). The TSIA determines whether a student knows key prerequisite skills for college-level coursework. All students enrolling in Texas colleges and universities take the TSI assessment unless they are exempt through their SAT/ACT scores.
The TSIA is an untimed, multiple-choice test and essay that is taken online. The test is aligned to the Texas College and Career Readiness standards for math, reading, and writing. The test has three sections and most students finish within three to five hours. The test is $25 and your results are available to you immediately upon completion. Test results are valid for five years.
If you have any questions or need to register for the TSIA through Plano ISD; please contact your counselor.

Book of the Week - Neverworld Wake
One year after graduation, Beatrice is returning to Wincroft - the seaside estate where they spent so many nights sharing secrets, crushes, plans to change the world - hoping she'll get to the bottom of the dark questions gnawing at her about Jim's death.
But as the night plays out in a haze of stilted jokes and unfathomable silence, Beatrice senses she's never going to know what really happened.
Then a mysterious man knocks on the door. Blithely, he announces the impossible: time for them has become stuck, snagged on a splinter that can only be removed if the former friends make the harshest of decisions.
Now Beatrice has one last shot at answers... and at life.
And so begins the Neverworld Wake.
