A Message from the Principal
This week, we hosted a Coffee Chat about Guidance Services and Mental Health Supports. Thank you to all of the parents/guardians who attended. Also, thank you to Officer Palladini, Guidance Counselors Jennilee Spinelli and Leah Barry, and Director of Wellness Dot Pearl for hosting this event.
On Thursday, we had our first early release day for the school year. The teachers had a guest speaker, Rich Drolet, Ed.D. Dr. Drolet is the Superintendent of the Seekonk Public Schools. He wrote his dissertation on teaming in the middle schools and worked with our teachers on Best Practices for Middle School Teaming. I am sure that your children will see the benefits of this professional growth session as we continue to develop our new teaming structure throughout the school year.
Over the next two weeks, we have Open Houses for Grade 7 (Thursday, October 3) and Grade 8 (Thursday, October 10). Open House is a great chance for parents/guardians to see the school, walk through their child's schedule, and meet the people who work with their child on a daily basis. Please see below for more information.
This past week, the state officially released the 2019 MCAS results to the public. We will be sharing King Philip Middle School results with the community over the coming weeks. School districts should be receiving the printed Parent/Guardian reports during the week of September 30. After reports are received, we will be sharing them with families.
Please take a moment to read the updates below about our KPMS community.
Have a great weekend!

Using Infinite Campus to Check on Your Child's Progress
At this point, many teachers have posted the results of assignments on Infinite Campus (IC). Checking grades on IC is a great way for parents to keep up with their child's progress in school.
All parents/guardians should be signed up for IC and should be utilizing the grades tab for up-to-date information on their child. Parents/Guardians can also update their contact information on the the site. If you have any trouble accessing the site or updating your information, please contact icsupport@kingphilip.org.
Grade 7 Open House is on Thursday, October 3rd
We look forward to seeing you there!
Please note that the Grade 8 Open House will be on Thursday, October 10.

A Message from the KPMS PTSO
We are excited to share that, with the help of the many generous donations we received last year through our inaugural check writing campaign, we were able to award grants totaling close to $4,000 in order to fulfill a variety of grants that benefited all of our students, faculty, and staff.
We would love to continue our momentum this year and are excited to kick off this year's check writing campaign! Please view the flyer to find information about the campaign and how you can help make the 2019/2020 school year a success.
Thank you in advance for helping us with this important initiative!
