8th Grade - Memorization

As I will not be in school on Friday, there will be no 8th grade lessons this week. Although there are no lessons, students need to be practicing memorizing AFTERBURN. Students should be able to perform the whole thing without looking at their music. If you are having trouble with the last 20 measures, remember to use the three part memorization process.

  1. Play a small chunk of music (4 measures max) until you are comfortable playing it while looking at the music.
  2. Play the same small chunk of music but only look at the music if you have to (close your eyes or look to the side).
  3. Turn your stand around and try playing those measure memorized.

Keep adding on as you continue to memorize!
