Weekly Update #27
Welcome Back Wildcats!
Next week's schedule is a bit goofy with the 6th and 7th grade competitions so pay close attention to our schedule.
Monday (4/11) - 7th grade morning rehearsal, **7th grade lessons
Tuesday (4/12) - 6th grade morning rehearsal
Wednesday (4/13) - 8th grade morning rehearsal, **6th grade lessons
Thursday (4/14) - 6th grade morning rehearsal
Friday (4/15) - NO MORNING REHEARSAL, NO LESSONS
As you probably noticed, 7th grade lessons will be on MONDAY and 6th grade lessons will be on WEDNESDAY this week. Thank you for being flexible!
I will not be at school on Friday, so there will be no morning rehearsal or lessons. Enjoy the extra day to sleep in!
6th Grade Adjusted Lessons and Travel Through Time!
The lesson schedule for the week is as follows - REMEMBER LESSONS ARE ON WEDNESDAY:
8:30 AM - Katrina, Jeanna, April, Ashley, Emilia, Emily C
9:00 AM - Jessica, Marina, Julia, Heather, Kathryn, Maddie
11:45 AM - Nikki, Kamila, Grace, Mark, Kaya, Emily Y
2:00 PM - Nermeen, Kihyun, Nicole M, Daniela, Laura, Sita
2:30 PM - Arnold, Nathan, Stephen, Jacob, Tommy
Please work together with your group to make sure EVERYONE is at the correct lesson time! We will be performing ALL songs!
Thursday (4/14) Competition Information:
Our friendly competition will take place against the band IN the band room. Students should arrive no later than 9:30 AM and will be dismissed at 11:20 AM back to class. Students are encouraged to check in with teachers PRIOR to this event to see what they are going to be missing in class. This is a MANDATORY performance and is worth 60 points so all students need to be there!
For the playing portion of the competition, students group will be randomly selected to play any of the travel through time pieces with their mini ensemble. All groups will be performing TWICE.
For trivia during the competition, you WILL be able to use your Encyclopedia... but ONLY YOUR Encyclopedia. Make sure you go through all the information in my previous e-mail and make sure it is written IN your Encyclopedia.

8th Grade - Memorization
- Play a small chunk of music (4 measures max) until you are comfortable playing it while looking at the music.
- Play the same small chunk of music but only look at the music if you have to (close your eyes or look to the side).
- Turn your stand around and try playing those measure memorized.
Keep adding on as you continue to memorize!
