Regions of the Earth
Regions-an area or division, especially part of a country or the world having definable characteristics but not always fixed boundaries.
Hemispheres-A half of the earth, usually as divided into northern and southern halves by the equator, or into western and eastern halves by an imaginary line passing through the poles.
The hemispheres help humans by knowing the seasons in that area. Example: In the Northern Hemisphere, the warmer summer months are from June through September. In the Southern Hemisphere, summer begins in December and ends in March.
Southern Hemisphere-Bottom half of the Earth
Northern Hemisphere-Top half of the Earth
Western Hemisphere-Left side of the Earth
Eastern Hemisphere-Right side of the Earth
Time Zones
There are many time zones if you go into a different area on Earth you may be in a different time zone, times will be different as well as sunrise and sunsets. You need to know this if you have something planned for a certain time or you are going to a different part of the Earth.
Climate zones
Climate zones are categorized in the temperature of the area amount of precipitation.You need to know this if you are going to somewhere really hot or really cold to know what to wear and so you are prepared.
