THINGS TO KNOW AND DO
Native American Heritage Month
In California, the FAIR Education Act requires the contributions of both men and women, Native Americans, African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders, European Americans, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans, persons with disabilities, and members of other ethnic and cultural groups, to the economic, political, and social development of California and the United States of America, with particular emphasis on portraying the role of these groups in contemporary society.”
Learning about the contributions of the above-mentioned groups and others, not only gives us a much more accurate picture of history and contemporary society but also helps build up positive role models and destroy negative stereotypes.

The teams also play at San Diego Unified high school athletic facilities, giving middle schoolers a chance to establish a connection and familiarity with their future school campuses.
