Health Guidelines
We have had a great two weeks back in school! Just a reminder to continue to let us know here in the office if your child has been exposed to someone with the virus or if there is someone in the house with the virus
Updated district guidelinesWe appreciate you contacting the Nurse (ctrautman@crschools.us or stjohnson@crschools.us) or Mr. O'Connell (goconnell@crschools.us) if you have been exposed or have tested positive for the virus while on break. This just keeps us informed and also helps to keep everyone healthy in return from break.
Weather Changes
The weather is ever changing as we inch closer and closer to winter, so this is a reminder to make sure you are sending your child to school with clothing that is suitable for the weather. We will be going outside for recess unless the wind chill is below 10 degrees. Having appropriate winter gear will help your child to stay warm while they are playing outside. Please have your child's clothing marked with their names too! Thanks so much!
Drills
We continue to practice emergency drills here at school. We have practiced fire and tornado drills this fall. We also practiced an emergency drill this past week to practice what to do in an emergency situation. We will practice them again in the spring as well. If you have any questions regarding our drills, please let me know. We practice all our drills so that students and staff know what to do in emergency situations. Do you have a system in place at your house for these emergency situations?
School Pictures
During the fall, we were not allowing photographers into our CR buildings. We are hoping to do spring photos, but I am not sure right now. We will communicate if we set a date and are inviting the photographers into the building.
CR Activities from Parks and Recreation
Online registrations are now being accepted for Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department's winter-spring programs. The Play! guide, with programs for all ages and abilities, is available online at CRREC.org. All Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha, and Robins residents will receive the Play! guide in the mail starting Nov. 19.
Due to COVID-19, winter-spring programs are being offered virtually, or have been modified to allow for social distancing and other safety measures. They are subject to change or limits, depending on the most current health guidelines. Look for baseball, football, soccer, volleyball, snow kickball, track, swim lessons, school break camps, art classes, cooking classes, dance, karate, Kyudo Renmei, and more.
