Longhorn Stampede

2018-19: Leading the Herd (1)

Big picture

Welcome Back, Longhorns!

Lone Star Families,
Please read all the way through to the end of this newsletter. It contains an exciting piece of information just for you!

We can't wait to see your smiling faces at Meet the Teacher this week! Remember that if you will be walking your child to class on the first day, you will want to drop your license off so we can run your V-soft sticker while you walk around. Pick up your tag on the way out, and you will be able to skip the long line on Day 1!

Walking your children back:
Any/Every Day - All parents may walk to the Hug&Kiss zone in the foyer, and children will continue past the hallway doors on their own (We always have staff in the hallways to help!)
Day 1 (August 21) - All grades; parents must have visitor sticker
Days 1-3 (August 21, 22, 23) PK and Kdg; parents must check in at front desk and get visitor sticker
Days 1-5 (August 21, 22, 23, 24, 27) PK; parents must check in at front desk and get visitor sticker

PK/K - No Lunch Visitors for Week 1, please.

Thank you! This helps us ensure that staff attention is focused on children and safe protocols are in practice.

Meet Your Kindergarten Teacher: Mrs. Nichols, room 110

Hi! My name is Mrs. Rebecca Nichols. I am so excited to be your child's Kindergarten teacher for the 2018-2019 school year! I love teaching Kindergarten!!! I started my teaching career in Pasadena ISD where I taught for 10 years. I taught Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade. I was fortunate to begin working at Lone Star in 2014. I am so excited to be a part of such a wonderful school family. I am married to my wonderful husband, Rick, and we have a sweet daughter named Grace. She is in seventh grade at Oak Hills Junior High. We are also the proud owners of a sweet Labrador mix named Bailey, and a squeaky guinea pig named Pop Tart. I look forward to meeting you. It will be a great year!

Parents, please feel free to email a picture of your child and a few sentences about them to your child's teacher in response.
