Message from the Principal
Black Bear Families,
We’ve had a great week here at Tualatin Elementary, despite the challenging air quality issues we know all about.
Our primary focus is always student safety. For the past couple of days, we monitored our worsening air quality. Wednesday, students who were sensitive to the air quality were given an option to stay inside for their recess time. By Thursday, TTSD made the call to move all outside activities to inside early in the morning after looking at the air quality index. Our students had recess in their classrooms, and our PE/WHAM Specials were inside as well. I’m hoping with the onset of rain our air quality issues will be a thing of the past. If the air quality reaches the “unhealthy” level (150), we will again move outside activities inside.
I’d like to share with you some events coming up in the next couple of weeks.
Tomorrow, October 22nd, Garden Work Party from 9-11 AM
Friday, October 28, 2022 - Fall Harvest Dance sponsored by our PTA
Friday, November 4th - Fun Run!
Below, you will also find links to a survey we are asking you to fill out. We had two events at the start of the school year: our Open House/BBQ on August 31st, and our Back to School Night on September 29th. This short survey will gather your thoughts about these two events for future planning. Thank you in advance for taking time to complete it for us!
I hope you all have a great weekend,
Jim
Feedback Needed
We are asking for your help in filling out our Parent Event Feedback Form. We would like to know how you felt about our two school events to date, Open House/BBQ on August 31st and our Back to School Night on September 29th. This will help us plan for these events next year!
Garden Hoe Down!
Students and families are invited to our garden "Hoe Down" Saturday, October 22, from 9-11:00 a.m. We are honoring our summer/fall garden volunteers, cleaning up the garden, doing some final harvesting and noshing on Aggi's refreshments!
