The Beginning of Pluto
Pluto was discovered in 1930 by a man named Clyde W. Tombaugh at the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff Arizona. Astronomers predicted that there would be a ninth planet in the solar system in which they called Planet X. After more research and work Pluto was named a planet in the solar system.
Is Pluto a Planet?
Pluto used to be a planet a planet in the solar system but in August of 2006 the International Astronomical Union removed Pluto from the solar system and downgraded its status from a plant to a dwarf planet.
Facts About Pluto
Pluto is a dwarf planet and is now located in the Kuiper Belt which is a ring of bodies beyond Neptune. It was the first Kuiper Belt Object to be discovered.
