LVES Family Fun Night

Tuesday is our 2nd Family Fun Night at PDQ and 4th grade is up for representing LVES! The time is 4-9 pm, but you don't have stay the entire time. I think 6:00 would be the best time to get there since that is dinner time for a lot of our families. PDQ is adding an incentive by having a book for students to sign if they eat dinner that night. The class with the most signatures will receive a coupon from PDQ. I will send a Parent Link reminder to parents tomorrow reminding them about our Family Fun Night.

Absences

Don't forget that all absences should be submitted through Aesop. We are no longer using Eduphoria for requesting absences. If you need a sub after hours, please put into Aesop and text both Christine and me so we know that you will be out. Christine's number is (512) 619-2740 and my number is (512) 656-4294.

RtI Intervention Forms

Eduphoria is still trying to figure out what is going on with our RtI Intervention forms. If you have any problems submitting a form, please email Paul Hunt and me with detailed information on what you problems you are having with the form. We will get this figured out soon:-)

Quarterly Self Assessment #1 due October 23rd

Keeping this in here, because this due date is next Friday. This is a firm due date that cannot be extended. I know it's still a couple of weeks away, but I would go ahead and start the self-assessment to give yourself time to get it in before the due date. The self-assessment form is in Appraise, and will need to be submitted through Appraise - not in paper form. If you need any help, please don't hesitate to ask Eric or me:-)

Tax Ratification Election Information

I talked with the Leadership Team last week about the upcoming Tax Ratification Election coming in December. Here is a brief explanation of what the TRE is and how it benefits our school district. I am also attaching a informational flyer as well. On October 8, 2015 the Lago Vista ISD Board of Trustees held a Public Hearing & a Called Meeting to discuss the proposed tax rate, budget, and to possibly call a Tax Ratification Election (TRE) to be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015. The passage of the TRE coupled with an Ordinance passed by the LVISD Board of Trustees would effectively move $0.02 from the Interest and Sinking Fund (I&S) to our Maintenance and Operations Fund (M&O). This shift would generate approximately $250,000 in additional state funding for the school district with NO INCREASE in tax rate for the LVISD taxpayers.

Point Venture Lions Club Grant Proposal

The PV Lions Club is looking to help teachers enrich and maximize learning in the classroom by offering grants to individual teachers or teams. If you are interested in submitting a grant proposal, I am attaching the guidelines to the email. All proposals are due to me by October 29th. Good luck!

Faculty Meeting

This week's faculty meeting will be CIP Teams. We will meet in the library at 3:05 for some snacks provided by 2nd grade, then we will break into our CIP Teams. Team leaders, I will send you an agenda based on your last meeting. Thank you 2nd grade for providing snacks this month.

Weekly Attendance Goal

The attendance goal for the week of October 8th was 96%. So, we didn't reach our weekly goal this week, but we will be on track to reach our goal next week.
