QUESTION FROM PASTOR FOR SUNDAY
Which one Old Testament and one New Testament mother would you choose, other than Mary, as the best example for a Mother's Day sermon and why?
The flowers on the Altar this week were given by Mandy Dixon in loving memory of her mother, Dee McGaha
FINANCIAL REPORT
I am pleased to report that in March, our overall budget remained stable and met our plan. Specifically, church income was approximately $20,000, meeting the plan for the month and leaving us at 104% of plan year to date. Overall TLA income was up slightly from February, however, was about $1,000 less than plan. Year to date the TLA is on it's planned income.
Spending remains well under control in all major areas of expenses. For the month, our overall income exceeded our expenses by approximately $1,000.
As always, I'll remind you of two important items.
- the budget, as we approved, that I am referring to here, is in deficit for the whole year. Our expenses would exceed our income.
- two months during the year we have three pay periods for the TLA. In order to cover this approximately $15,000 expense, the other months should run at about a positive $3,000. March's $1,000 was good, but not quite enough.
One final bit of good news - we actually received the funding for the second round of the Payroll Protection Plan. This will help us with payroll expenses in the near term. Also, the window for seeking forgiveness of the first PPP payment has reopened and Kathy will be resubmitting our request of forgiveness of that loan. While we are confident that we used the funds as required, I'll sleep better when these loans are eventually forgiven.
As always, If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact me.

The Academy will host their Spring La Parrilla Night on Monday, May 10th. 30% of the night's income will be donated to the Academy. Please come out to enjoy some great fellowship and food while supporting our academy and a very generous local restaurant.

CHOIR RESUMES!
The CDC has released updated guidelines regarding the safety of singing in a chorus. For fully-vaccinated, masked individuals it is likely to be safe now. With this new information, I feel confident that we can return to musical activities such as choir and handbells, as long as we remain masked during rehearsals and preferably if everyone has been vaccinated. Singing with a mask is not particularly comfortable but it is possible and we'll start slow to get back into the habit. The main thing I need to know is who is interested in participating, so I can find music appropriate to the size of the ensemble. For choir rehearsals, we may plan to rehearse outside under the breezeway for added safety, depending on the numbers and comfort level of those involved.
If you have been in choir or handbells in the past, or are interested in being involved in either one now, please contact me at annecw515@gmail.com so I can plan accordingly and so that I will have your contact information for future updates. I am so excited about making music with you again!
