Encounter Christ's Presence - Year of the Eucharist

November 14th, 2021

Dear RSPS Families,

Happy Sunday! As I drove into school this morning, I happened to hear Christmas music on the radio. I won't get into the hotly debated topic about when Christmas music should start, but it reminded me of all of the exciting events happening over the next month. It may be wise to take a note out of Santa's playbook and check your calendars twice. We want to make sure you are aware of any upcoming events here at school.

The Johns Hopkins Hospital will be hosting a vaccine clinic here at RSPS on Tuesday, November 23rd from 11AM - 1 PM with the potential to extend it based on demand. There will be about 100 doses available for 5-11 year old students. For those 12+, Johns Hopkins will bring Pfizer and offer 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or booster doses. Parents are required to be present for their child(ren) to receive a vaccine. A sign up form will be sent out on Monday or Tuesday that you may use to request an appointment. The vaccine consent form and the EUA are attached below. Please note that the vaccine clinic is optional and we respect all parental decisions surrounding this.

Finally, I want to let you know that our Business Manager, Sharon Tornatore, has moved on to a new opportunity at the AOB. Sharon has been a cornerstone of the RSPS community for over 16 years as a parent, HSA president, gala chair, parishioner, and beloved colleague and friend to many. Although Sharon will not be here physically, she will still be involved with our community and will continue to help with the transition. Please join me in thanking Sharon for all that she has done to help make RSPS the great place it is today. If you would like to send her a personal note, you can still reach her using her RSPS email.

On that note, I would like to introduce our new business manager, Jill Buls. Jill comes to us having served as the Business Manager for St. John Regional Catholic School in Frederick, MD for the past 10 years. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our community and she is excited for this new opportunity. Please be patient with Jill as she transitions into the Business Manager role here. Questions regarding finances should now be directed to Jill at her email

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school office.

(For the record, I'm pro pre-Thanksgiving Christmas music. Why not enjoy two holidays at the same time?!)

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your Sunday!

Ryan Hellem
