How Students Go Home Must Remain Consistent
Arrival and Dismissal Tips
Please be patient with our staff and your neighbors. This is ANOTHER first day of school for many of us and we will become more efficient after a few days.
When you drop off your child, make sure that he/she is ready before you pull up to the curb.
Backpack is ready, mask is on, goodbyes are said, and all belongings are accounted for.
Free Flu shots at Mott
Free Flu Shots for Students!
Health Hero will be at Mott Elementary on October 19th administering FREE FLU SHOTS for students with TOTALLY COMPLETE CONSENT FORMS. This year, the form must be 100% filled out or the student will not be immunized. Please turn in your consent form no later than Wednesday, October 14th. If you have questions, please email Caitrina.drago@pfisd.net for more information.
WHAT YOUR STUDENT NEEDS TO BRING TO SCHOOL
Water fountains are not available for student use. We do have water bottle filling stations, and will provide cups if a child does not have a water bottle.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES
Crayons, pencils, markers, scissors, paper, folders, spirals, etc. There will not be any communal supplies. Helpful but not required items: individual pencil sharpeners, and personal hand sanitizer.
EXTRA MASK
Things happen! It is helpful for your child to have an extra mask in their backpack for unforeseen circumstances.
*Please do not bring your own wipes. We need to use the district provided wipes which are compatible with the other cleaning products currently used.
A Message from Nurse Cat
Parents,
If your child is returning to on-campus learning and has medical conditions which will require medication to be administered on campus, please note the following to-do’s and updates:
- Unless accompanied by prescription from the physician, we will not currently be able to accept over the counter medications that are “as needed,” such as Tylenol or ibuprofen for headaches. This is to prevent unnecessary exposure to children who may be sick.
- We will not be able to do nebulizer treatments at school at this time, due to aerosolization of respiratory particles. If your student has asthma and will need medication at school, please ask your doctor for an inhaler for your child. As a reminder, we are never allowed to accept “naked inhalers.” We must have the pre-printed prescription label from the pharmacy with every inhaler, either on the box or affixed to the inhaler itself. For inhalers we request a spacer be provided for administration. If you have questions please email Nurse Cat.
- Medications kept in the clinic have paperwork that needs to go with them: You can find all these forms Here:
- Asthma: Asthma action plan from the doctor, medication administration form, consent to release medical information.
- Seizures: Seizure action plan from the doctor, seizure questionnaire, medication administration form, consent to release medical information.
- Allergies: Allergy action plan from the doctor, allergy questionnaire, medication administration form, consent to release medical information. If it is a food allergy, then a Special Meals Request form is also required if student will eat cafeteria food.
- Other medications: medication administration form, consent to release medical information
IN ORDER TO REDUCE WAIT TIME ON THE FIRST DAY BACK, PLEASE ARRANGE FOR MEDICATION DROP OFF AHEAD OF TIME WITH NURSE CAT. You don’t have to wait for October 13th!!!
If you have any questions, or if your child has special medical needs that will need to be addressed, please email Nurse Cat at Caitrina.drago@pfisd.net
Sincerely,
Cat Drago, BSN, RN
