VOLCANIC ERUPTIONS
"When rock from the mantle melts, move to the surface through the crust, and releases pent-up gases, volcanoes erupt". https : // www. csum /.edu/.../ volcano 2.ht". Three types of volcanoes are cinder cone volcano, shield volcano, and composite volcano. Cinder cones are the most common type of volcano their is. Cinder cone volcanoes are somewhat small and about 300 feet tall. Composite volcanoes are built by ash, lava, and unmelted stone. They are 8,000 feet tall. They erupt with great violence and pop like a shaken soda can. These are the deadliest types of volcanoes for example MT saint Helens. It destroyed the forest and killed 57 people. Also ash fell over 11 states. Sheild volcanoes are huge with lava slowly oozing out. The biggest shield volcano is Mauna Loa in Hawaii. It measures 55,770 feet below sea level and 13,681 feet above sea level. It is also the worlds largest volcano and the most active.

Mt. Pintubo
It was the second largest volcano eruption. It was also the largest to affect a densely populated area. The volcano eruption produced high speed avalanches and hot ash. Also a giant mud flow and a black cloud 100 miles. It occured and is located in the Philippines on june 15 1991."pubs.usgs.gov."
Mt. Saint Helens
Mt. Saint Helen erupted thirty five years ago in 1980. It erupted in Washington spreading ash, rock ,and hot gases into the air. It also caused mud to slide down the volcano. It was the deadliest event in the history of the united states. "Volcanoes,usgs.gov."
Novarupta
When it erupted a ash cloud was sent into the air. The volcano was so loud that it could be heard from 750 miles away. The black gas covered the sky and clouds. It was thirty times more powerful than MT. Saint Helens, and was 3 times more powerful than Mt. Pintubo. This occured in Alaska Peninsula on 1912. "geology.com"
