Principal's Message
Hello Families,
Look out for the new Principals on Monday! Congratulations to our top earners for the Jog a Thon: Grayson Harris (Murillo), Sawyer Bell (Blew), Miranda Matteson (Miller) and Pax Markov (Smith). They will be working all day on Monday checking on classes, making announcements, supervising on the playground and eating a delicious lunch with Mrs. Morton.
*Dance Party is on Tuesday for those that raised $50+.
*Pie in the Face for Mrs. Blew (Blew) and Silly String for Mrs. Morton (Smith) on Friday

May 2 - May 13 - State Testing for grades 3-5 (Science testing the following week for 5th grade only and Make-ups as well)
May 13 - Spring Bubbles Carnival 5PM-8PM
May 24 - Open House with Leadership Night
May 30 - No School - Memorial Day
June 8 - Last day of school (minimum day 12:54PM release)

Support for Ukraine Fundraiser

VCC Dental Screening May 3rd - May 6th
Dental screening will be done on campus by VCC. Services are available to all students, regardless of their insurance status. The treatment they receive is painless and easy. The VCC dental van will come to THE LA to provide children with oral exams, fluoride varnish, goodie bag, sealant placement ( if necessary)
2 ways to show your interest:
- Please return consent forms by April 28th to the front office
- You're welcome to scan the QR Code and fill out the consent form.





3rd-5th Grade State Testing
Many of you have asked how you can support our learners. Please make sure they come to school on time and are well-rested. A good healthy breakfast is also advised! All teachers would appreciate snack donations during the testing window. Thank you for your support in advance!

Spring Bubbles Carnival

PTA Association Meeting - May 24th at 4:30 pm.
We are excited to welcome new PTA Board members!

Enrolling 4 Year Olds for Transitional Kindergarten
Our Transitional Kindergarten is a free all day program here at THE Leadership Academy. Contact our office and they are happy to assist you and answer questions.
*Note: If your child turns 5 after 2/2/22, they may start TK on the day they turn 5, space permitting.

Noon Duty Assistant - Approximately 3.5 hours per day (9:30AM - 12:30PM)
Instructional Assistant - Approximately 6 hours per day (7:45AM. - 2:15PM)

Communication about Health and Safety
If your child has any of the following symptoms, please keep your child at home and notify our school immediately. COVID symptoms may include:
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of Breath or Difficulty Breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or Body Aches
- Headache
- New Loss of Taste or Smell
- Sore Throat
- Congestion or Runny Nose
- Nausea or Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- If you have been exposed to someone who tested positive, please keep your child at home and inform the school immediately.
- If you have taken a PCR or NAAT test and it is positive, please inform the school immediately.
You will share your information with:

In order to return after having symptoms, please make sure to ONLY acquire PCR or NAAT tests, be fever free for 24 hours, and have improving symptoms. Reach out to Ms. Franck, Ms. Tanya, or Ms. Morton with any questions. We are here to help.
Vista has our own COVID-19 testing sites. The testing centers will be available on Mondays-Fridays. The testing sites are available to all families, students, and Vista Unified staff. For more information about the Vista testing sites, please visit Vista COVID Testing Centers.
