LEOPARD SPOTLIGHT AWARD
Deborah DiMarco joined LHS in the special education department last year. We are thrilled to welcome her to our social studies team this school year. She jumped right in to teach AP European History AND AP Human Geography! She is dedicated to the success of her students and brings a caring and positive spirit to the team. Thank you for all that you do Ms. DiMarco!
October is Principal Month
Sending a shout out to our wonderful Principal!! Dr. Zambiasi is a wonderful leader and works hard at making sure all the students and staff at Lovejoy High School know how valuable they are. His knowledge in the educational field is an asset to this campus! This month some folks said "Thank you" with dinner, lunch and a fun door from our PTSO!
Thank you Dr. Zambiasi for all you do for us and the community at Lovejoy!
Leopard Friday Success!
Leopard Friday was a great success! Hundreds of our leopards came to LHS and enjoyed activities for children, games, food trucks, dessert trucks, and purchased Lovejoy spirit wear. Lovejoy High School clubs and organizations ranging from athletics, student led-clubs, and performing arts filled the courtyard. In addition, local community service organizations and PTSO groups joined in on the Lovejoy ISD family-centered fun. Lovejoy Visual Arts also hosted our second Gallery opening of the year, which was a huge success. Thank you to all staff members, students, and parents who made this event possible.
Dude, Be Nice!

LOVEJOY LETTER WRITING CAMPAIGN
It’s that time of year again to celebrate our amazing teachers and staff with our Lovejoy Letter Writing Campaign! Many of you are familiar with this beloved tradition, but for those of you who are not, it is the time of year when current and past students and parents write appreciation letters for each of our teachers and staff members across the district.
The letters do not have to be elaborate or lengthy. The goal is just for people to write a note of thanks to show gratitude to their teachers, the staff and administration in our district. It is an opportunity for us to take the time to let each person who makes a difference for us throughout the school day know how much we value them.
Please clearly label the envelope with the staff/teacher’s name and LLC (Lovejoy Letter Campaign) and return the letter to the box located in the designated area at your school no later than Friday November 11th.
The letter writing campaign has become such a meaningful tradition in our district. We really appreciate your time and effort to help us tell our teachers and staff thank you for all that they do!

Positive Behavior Traits: RESPONSIBILITY (1st 9 weeks into October)
This year, the counseling department will be focusing on the four core Positive Behavior Traits from the Texas Education Agency TEKS. In addition to placing posters that use language from the TEKS outside of our counseling office to identify the current behavior trait we are focusing on, we have provided the presentation (linked below) as an extra resource. The slides in the presentation outline what responsibility looks like in a variety of ways for our Lovejoy Leopards. This is an optional resource for you to review and/or use with your 9th-12th grade student. We encourage you to connect this with your family's expectations as well!
AP Exams
If your student is enrolled in AP courses, they should be registered on the College Board’s myAP website for each AP course for which they are enrolled. Most students have already successfully registered for the AP exams at school. Please help us ensure your student is properly registered for the exam by having them log in to their College Board account and verifying each of their courses are displayed. There should be one icon for each AP course.
The cost for most AP exams is $97.00 per test. Capstone courses- AP Seminar and AP Research- are $145.00 each.
Students must be registered by November 15, 2022. Any student adding an exam after this date will be charged a $40 late fee by the College Board. This fee is not controlled by Lovejoy HS.
Payment options will be available after the November 15 deadline.
In the event that the cost of these AP exams is a financial hardship, please contact Michael Montague at 469-742-8712 or michael_montague@lovejoyisd.net to obtain a financial assistance application.
