New Books on the Shelf
Renegades is the first book of a new series by New York Times bestselling author Marissa Meyer. The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies, humans with extraordinary abilities. They emerged from the ruins of a crumbled society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. They are seen as champions of justice, except to the villains they once overthrew.Nova has a reason to hate the Renegades and is on a mission for vengeance. As she gets closer to her target, she meets Adrian, a Renegade boy who believes in justice and in Nova. In a world of secret identities and extraordinary powers, will Nova maintain her allegiance to a villain who has the power to end them both? This book will be shelved in Teen Sci/Fan.
Fragments of the Lost by Miranda Megan is a suspenseful mystery about one girl's search to uncover the truth behind her ex-boyfriend's death. Jessa Whitworth knew she didn’t belong in Caleb's room. She couldn’t deny that she was everywhere...in his photos, his neatly folded t-shirts, even the butterfly necklace in his jeans pocket, the one she gave him for safe keeping on that day. His mother asked Jessa to pack up Caleb's things even though she blames Jessa for his accident. Jessa thinks maybe, just maybe, it will help her work through the guilt she feels about their final moments together. As Jessa begins to box up the pieces of Caleb’s life, they trigger memories that make Jessa realize their past relationship may not be exactly as she remembered. She starts to question whether she really knew Caleb at all. Each fragment of his life reveals a new clue that propels Jessa to search for the truth about Caleb’s accident and what really happened on the storm-swept bridge. This book will be shelved in Teen Myst.
