Box Tops
The official box tops deadline was Feb 14th, but it’s not too late! Please get all your Box Tops in by Tuesday, 2/19, so the Box Tops Committee has enough time to count them all and get them submitted before the March 1st deadline.
If you have misplaced the pink flyer that came home with your student, you may place all your box tops on a blank sheet of paper or place them in a ziploc bag. Be sure to include your child's name, their grade and homeroom teacher.
Principal's Message
February is a good time to check progress and promote success. We also like to reset our positive mindset and prepare to work hard. Talk with the teacher to review how your child is doing. Be creative while reading and do activities that relate to things your child is studying. Help your child set reasonable goals, then applaud their efforts!
The second semester is academically rigorous. There are usually two benchmark tests in core subjects as well as the STAAR Test for 3rd & 4th graders. We will be working hard with students to have them academically grow and progress during this time. Thank you for your continued efforts to build responsibility in your student. The Spring semester tends to come and go quickly.
ANOTHER SPECIAL GUEST
Come by and see an incredible robotic exhibition form our high school team!
Go Texan Day
Fun will be had by all during their Thursday and Friday PE classes to include western dancing! Go Texan!
Rodeo Art
Spring Carnival/Fundraiser
Mark your calendars! The 2019 Ride Through the Decades Spring Carnival and Fundraiser will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 from 5-8 pm. The event will include entertainment, games, a kid’s raffle, silent auction, food, and lots of family fun!
We Need Donations
We need silent auction and raffle donations. If you have connections, please use them! You don't have to be on the PTO planning committee to help us out. Just let us know who you have contacted and what you can contribute. We love people who like to work behind the scenes. Your contributions are valuable!
Also, if you received any of the following items over the holidays and would like to re-gift them to the PTO, we'd love to take them off your hands!
- Baskets (non-Christmas) that we can use to package silent auction items
- Gift Cards to store or restaurants (full value)
- Unopened and NEW toys (maybe you got duplicates?)
Planning Committee
Areas where planning help is still needed include:
- Sponsorships
- Silent Auction Donations
- Raffle Donations - CHAIR NEEDED
- Entertainment & Games - CHAIR NEEDED
- Food & Beverages
- Decorations
Sponsorships
We are always looking for corporate sponsorships for our events. Sponsorships alleviate the burden of event expenses so that more of our families' dollars can go straight to programs that benefit our kids. If you own a business or have a business connection that would like to help provide a fun community event while also getting a little name recognition, please respond to this email to receive our sponsorship packet.
The next general planning meeting will be on February 19, 2019 at 9:30 a.m.. at Chick-fil-A on College Park Dr.

From the Nurse
Flu season is still among us. A student should NEVER be sent to school with a temperature.
A student must be fever and/or symptom free for 24 hours before returning to school. Please remind your child about the importance of hand washing as well as coughing into their sleeve or into a tissue.
Library Volunteers Needed
Please help us welcome our new librarian, Mrs. Tammy Fishman, by volunteering to shelve books in the library. Volunteers fill a very important role, as it frees up the librarian to spend more time teaching and helping our students foster a love of reading. By getting the books back out on the shelves as quickly as possible it allows the children to have a wide variety of books to choose from.
Below you will find the link to our Signup page. There you will see a preset schedule, however it is very flexible. If you find a day that works for you, but you need to come earlier or later than posted time, that is no problem. Just reserve the spot that is close to the time you are available and come when you can. Consider coming around lunch time and have lunch with your student and then help in the library. For walker or car rider parents, maybe you can spare an hour or two before school dismisses to pop in and help catch up. Or if you are at school for another occasion, perhaps you could just stop by and see if Mrs. Fishman could use an extra helping hand.
Thank you all for your continued consideration and support. We look forward to working with you!
