We are the SAFEST place to be!
Moving Forward ...
Wow, has it been a whirlwind of a year! We closed our doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic almost exactly a year ago. Like most of you, the Milliken Family has had to embrace change, ups and downs, loss and lessons learned during this time. Mr. Milliken is currently finishing up his Graduate Degree in Business Analytics: Cyber Security. His entire career he has focused on keeping people safe physically and emotionally and has now had the realization that technology is a real threat. He is hoping to bring his new knowledge back to the dojo to add another component of how we can keep ourselves and our children safe. Ms. Shannon is working full time for the Colorado Department of Education from home, with a 3.5 year old toddler that has more sass than you can imagine right next to her. However, both she and Nick are grateful for the additional time they have been able to spend with Kaylee and each other during this mandatory time at home. Sadly, we lost Nick's sister in October, who was diagnosed about four years ago with a Glioblastoma (brain cancer). She had beaten the odds and lived a full additional four years, when the life expectancy is 12-18 months and helped her family persevere in the loss of her son and our nephew, Tyler at just the age of 14 to a rare form of osteosarcoma in 2018. While we miss Tiffany dearly, we find peace in knowing that she gets to be with her son again. We can honestly say that in November 2020, we hit rock bottom and struggled physically and emotionally after the toll that this pandemic had taken on us.
However, once you hit rock bottom, the only direction to go is up. With a light at the end of the tunnel and knowing that in June/July 2021, everyone who would like, will have the opportunity to be vaccinated, we have decided that it is time to make some changes to our business model. After long discussions as a family and as business owners, we know that our current model worked extremely well for our families, prior to COVID-19, however, we all know that even as the dust settles, we are not going back to the way things were before COVID-19. With that being said, we are needing to make some changes to our schedule and policies/practices to continue serving our amazing families who have been on this roller coaster ride with us and to encourage those who decided to leave, whether it was due to safety reasons, financial decisions, etc. to come back through our doors.
We are excited about the feedback we received during the three town hall meetings we hosted. We did settle on a schedule that we hope will work for our families. Please know that this schedule is open to changing once more people are vaccinated and we hear from public health officials that it is safe to change policies moving forward.
We want to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your trust, loyalty and compassion as we have had to navigate through the constant changes and the not knowing what is next, this past year. We were able to keep our doors open because of YOU! We have always felt that our Vision Quest Family was special and this last year was without a doubt, a living testament that our community is truly, one of a kind!
We look forward to being able to continue serving you and your families and hope to see you all real soon!
Dedicated to your success,
Mr. Milliken and Ms. Shannon
