Arabic:
- It was a wonderful UOI for me and my students. They have been working on writing a poem in Arabic, and they have done a great job, Ma Shaa Allah. Students tried their best to use the Arabic words they have been learning this UOI to express themselves.
- Students are working also on the year book. Each student is contributing their part to it.
Qur'an:
Students have been learning Surat Al-Hujuraat and examining all the manners described in this Surah. After learning all the manners in this Surah, students will create a chart to help them practice all the Adaab they have learned. They will each have this chart so please follow up with your child about it.
Islamic Studies:
- Students have learned about the story of Prophet Yusuf AS in details. They also learned that he is from the family of Prophet Ibrahim (AS). The story of prophet Yusuf was so interesting to them because they saw how Allah caused the sad actions to be a source of happiness for them.
- We also held a day of fasting, and it was really beneficial to my students. They were able to practice one day of fasting and how we should spend our time during the day of fasting.
ART
Mountain watercolor landscape
Students started on this mountain landscape watercolor and they practiced the wet on wet technique in addition of other watercolor processes and techniques. They were also reminded to draw few guiding lines with a very light pressure prior to the painting step.
Three peppers pastel still life
Students created a pastel painting representing a still life composition, the subject was three colors peppers, They created the drawing using light color pastel and very light pressure, they drew the basic shapes first then the details, they made sure to respect the proportions and the composition in the space, they used oil pastels and the blending techniques to created highlights midtones and shadows.
They noticed how the value creates the three dimensional effect and how the shadow create depth.
