Leadership Academy Highlight
Academy of Aviation and Aerospace
Welcome to the Aerospace Training Facility (ATF) and the home of the Aviation & Aerospace Signature Academy!!! The academy is divided into 2 parts: Aerospace & Aviation.
On the Aerospace side, students are introduced to the careers and academic skills, such as engineering, computer science, and robotics, necessary to design & create aircraft, spacecraft, and their related systems. During the 2020-2021 school year, students have explored the engineering concepts of space-based internet systems, such as Starlink, Project Kuiper, and OneWeb, and the computer programming foundations necessary to control robots, air/space vehicles, and road vehicles. These courses provide an opportunity for students to further develop their solution-based planning, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills in preparation for career fields such as engineering, computer science, medicine, project management, logistics, entrepreneurship, etc.
On the Aviation side (in partnership with the Coastal Alabama Community College), students are trained on the concepts and the hands-on skills required to work in the aviation field as a technician. During the 2020-2021 school year, students have learned about tools & measurement, tolerances, gravitational forces, and acceleration. The courses taken in the ATF and continued at the community college will allow students to get certified as aviation technicians and gain employment in the aviation field.

Academy of Business Information and Technology (Continued)
The Marketing program prepares learners for careers in planning, managing and performing marketing activities to reach organizational objectives. Marketing-related jobs are vital for companies, nonprofit groups, and organizations.
Job duties in this career cluster can include brand promotion, sales, merchandising, marketing communications, and market research. As companies find it increasingly important to focus on community outreach and customer relations, the need for marketing professionals will increase. Rigorous instruction is provided to equip learners with knowledge and skills for college and career readiness.
The marketing program also offers extended learning experiences to enrich and enhance instruction reinforced through learner participation in career and technical student organizations (DECA). With nearly a 75-year history, DECA has impacted the lives of more than ten million students, educators, school administrators and business professionals since it was founded in 1946. Their strong connection with our organization has resonated into a brand that people identify as a remarkable experience in the preparation of emerging leaders and entrepreneurs. DECA’s programs and activities have constantly evolved as we use the latest technology and apply cutting edge educational research. DECA’s core focus has remained consistent and is captured in their mission.

Academy of Communication and Arts Technology
Our B. C. Rain Academy of Visual and Graphic Arts Technology offers students the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills. This will allow students to develop their abilities in the visual and graphic arts world. These programs prepare students for many professions such as teaching, business, and industry. Students with interests in visual arts, animation, and graphic design, will find appropriate courses of study here at our school. At the present time our focus is on art careers, art history, and the elements of art. All professionals need a good background in the basics of art to succeed. Our most recent project is a study of artist Chuck Close and his up-close portraits. We used endangered species in our portraits. Our program offers all this and much more.

March is Women's History Month
We celebrate Women’s History Month to remind ourselves of the accomplishments of women throughout the years to our culture and society. Women’s History Month is a legally declared international celebration honoring the many contributions from science to politics and has been observed since 1987 annually in March in the United States.
Since 1995, every US president has issued annual proclamation designating the month of March as “Women’s History Month”. The proclamations call for all Americans to celebrate the past and ongoing contributions of women to the United States.
This month, we celebrate the Women of Ben C. Rain and their many contributions, THANK YOU!
