DHS SPECIAL BROADCAST
In an effort to continue to encourage reading over the summer, we have created a list of top-rated reading choices with the help of our student body. The students were asked for suggestions, and the English Department compiled the results and narrowed it down to 12 choices. Students will be able to read a book of their choice over the summer!
The presentation that follows will include a plot description and a grade level recommendation. Most importantly, we have included PARENTAL NOTES. It is very important that you read these since they give you information about any controversial text or theme. At Delran High School, we believe that all of these books have merit and will spark great discussion among the students and faculty.
After consulting with their parents, students will have the opportunity to select their top three choices in English class later this week. After all students have chosen, students will be notified which of their choices they will read this summer. Each student is only responsible for reading one book. You will have the opportunity to pre-order the book from Barnes and Noble at a discounted rate, and the book will be delivered before the end of the school year.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Eileen Baker, Supervisor of English, Mrs. Lena Galati, Assistant Principal, or Mr. Daniel Finkle, Principal.
