- Kansas was a leader in reform movements.
- Kansas lead movements such as a reform movement against alcohol.
Women would go in to saloons and break everything with axes because they wanted alcohol to be prohibited.

- Kansas was the first state to give women the right to vote in municipal elections.
- Kansas was the seventh state to give women full voting rights.
