Monthly Celebration Update
To help keep students motivated with Dojo points through the end of the year, we are planning to have one last assembly in June to reveal the big prize for each assembly.
There will be two different monthly celebration activities this month:
K4-2nd grade will be watching the Reading Rainbow video of the book, Tar Beach, in the auditorium (given our technology works) . After the video and a quick talk, students will head outside and draw their dreams, aspirations and hopes for their future in chalk! If it is raining, students can draw their dreams, aspirations and hopes in chalk using black construction paper in their classrooms.
3rd-5th grade will be participating in different active stations outside. There will be enough stations so that only one class is at a station at a time. Rather than supporting an individual class, support teachers will be manning a set station. The stations are: Yoga, Tic Tac Toe Relay, Monkey's Run, Landmines, Sleeping Lions and Steal the Bacon (third grade will only have three stations to choose from). Classes are not expected to attend ALL stations--consider participating in two or three stations with a mix of the low key and active stations. There will be additional supports available to step in if students are not exemplifying PBIS behaviors during the stations and need redirection from you.
If you have any questions, please let Sefcik know!

Lancaster Science Factory Summer Camp Scholarships
The Lancaster Science Factory has full scholarships available to students with an economic need to attend STEM Summer camps. There are a limited number of scholarships available per camp. Campers may request up to two scholarships. Camper needs to be interested in the topic, as well as fit into the age grade requirement. Parent would be required to bring and pick up the child based on the hours of the camp. These scholarships are made possible by the Russo Family. In order for the scholarship form to be accepted, a parent needs to fill in the necessary information. The child needs to find a teacher that would recommend them for the scholarship and the child needs to answer a brief question. The sooner the documents are returned to the Lancaster Science Factory, the faster the scholarship positions can be filled and the child can be placed into the camp of their choose. The position in the camp is subject to availability. These camps are on a variety of topics. The camp entry is based on a grade complete criteria. A brief description and weekly offering is shown below. Attached are the necessary documents. Questions may be addressed to Rachel Cahill of the Lancaster Science Factory at 509-6363 extension 105.
See someone going above and beyond...in addition to the paper version of the Staff Spotlight found in the main office here is a link that can also be used to celebrate each other…it can be completely anonymous and there is also a spot for choice on how you feel the celebration should be shared.
A monthly drawing will happen for spotlighted staff to win a PRIZE!
