New Transportation Supervisor Joins the GJPS Team
Welcome Krista Parkey
We are pleased to welcome Krista Parkey as the new Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools Transportation Supervisor. Parkey has more than 20 years of experience as a transportation professional and we are excited for her to join our team.
Most recently, Parkey served as the Director of Transportation for Marysville Exempted Village Schools. Previous to that, she was a Route Supervisor for South-Western City Schools for two years and an On Board Instructor and Driver for Dublin City Schools for 19 years.
“I look forward to meeting everyone and to start working together,” Parkey said. “I am excited to create a positive work environment in which we can grow as a strong team. It will be my honor and pleasure to serve the transportation department, the District and the GJPS community.”
Parkey was approved by the Board of Education on April 6 and her first day with the District will be April 28.
Please join us in welcoming Krista Parkey to our transportation team and our District!

State of Schools
Reflect | Envision | Ignite
We had a fantastic State of the Schools this week! Thank you to those in attendance and we are excited to carry that enthusiasm from the evening into our work moving forward.
Be on the lookout for more highlights from this event.
Chapelfield Elementary
Chaplfield Elementary second-grade students were treated to a visit by a few of our GLHS athletes as part of the 2nd and 7 Foundation program. The foundation was created by former Ohio State football players to get books into all second-grade hands across the country.
Our athletes read a book and talked to the students about what it takes to be a student-athlete and make good choices.
Thank you, Coach Ward and the staff at Chapelfield Elementary, for arranging such an inspiring visit for our young readers!
Middle School West
Seventh-grade students at Middle School West recently recorded their favorite books to create an online library for students and teachers to use at Chapelfield Elementary as part of their Buddies & Books program.
Buddies & Books is a community outreach project our seventh-grade students came up with to give back! Many students were eager to read their favorite books and share them with younger students.
Stay tuned for more from this program of sharing when the middle school students will begin visiting Chapelfield to buddy up with students to read and be read to!!
Lincoln High School
Our Lincoln High School students had plenty of hands-on learning this past week! It is fantastic to see these projects and works of art come together.
