Kiddle for Productive Searching
Try a visual search engine that is engaging and kid-approved
As trends in education move toward inquiry-based learning strategies, it's important to consider what resources we have available to help our students throughout this discovery-centered learning process.
We already have Discovery Education and World Book Online which are both fantastic tools for learning and exploring new concepts.
Kiddle is a visual search engine designed by Google for kids. What's so fantastic about Kiddle? Well, just like DE and WBO it is a safe environment for our students to investigate their interests in any given topic with an emphasis on using images to help guide students through search results.
Easy to Search
It's just like Google, but with more pictures and less distraction.
News Portion
Check out the "News" search; what a great way for students to start thinking about current events!
Image Search
All of the image results have the URL it came from directly under the picture- an easy way for students to learn the basics of citing their sources.
