CIS Weekly Update
#3: September 7-10
PRINCIPAL MESSAGE
Welcome back from a long weekend! I hope you and your family were able to recharge and take advantage of the nice weather.
As you know, we've already had our fair share of challenges this school year with COVID and quarantined students. As we are able to return students to school, we look forward to getting back to some normal routines. Thank you for all of your patience as we do our best, under the circumstances, to support students who are learning in the classroom and at home.
Below you will see Open House links. Our teachers created videos to introduce themselves and provide useful information for this school year. Please watch the videos that apply to your student and let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to partnering with our families to support student learning this school year.
Have a GREAT week!
Brandon Cobb, Principal

PTO MEETING THIS THURSDAY
On Thursday, September 9 @ 9:30am we have our PTO meeting! Information regarding the location and/or virtual meeting link will be available prior to the meeting. Snacks and drinks and a giveaway will be part of this meeting. We're looking forward to seeing you at the meeting!
PATRIOT DAY CELEBRATION
On Friday, we will start our day with a celebration for Patriot Day. Patriot Day is to commemorate the lives of those who died in the 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Virginia and those who perished when the hijacked United Airlines Flight 93 crashed in Pennsylvania. This will be in place of our announcements. Students are encouraged to wear red, white and blue.
PICTURE DAY IN ONE WEEK
We have picture day on Tuesday, September 14. Forms were put in mailboxes today and should come home soon. We will have no group pictures. Students will take individual pictures only.
COVID-19 & ILLNESS AT CIS
Please take a look at the attached documents. These documents will be used to guide our decision making at CIS regarding COVID-19 and illness. It is important that you keep your child home from school if he/she isn't feeling well. Our families did a great job last year, so we are hopeful we can continue that this year. If you have any questions then please reach out to us.

FAMILY VACATIONS
Please remember that if your child is going to miss school because of a vacation, then you will need PRIOR approval from Mr. Cobb. Please email him in advance and request that the absence be listed as "excused". For more information regarding attendance please check out the
Student Absence Brochure.
CONTACTING OUR ATTENDANCE DESK
Our attendance clerk, Kelsey Lanham, is the contact person for calling off your student and any change of dismissal plans throughout the day. Her email address is
klanham@wadsworthschools.org and the phone number to her desk is 330-335-1481. We recommend you let the attendance desk/teacher know when your student is going to be absent, leaving early or arriving late. Letting us know when your child is going to leave early allows us to be prepared for when you arrive. Thank you for your efforts!
