Field Day!

Our annual field day shirts are back! It is now time to purchase your child's field day shirt to create the "team spirit" as each class competes in the fun activities that Coach Ullmann has planned for us on Field Day, Friday, April 29!

Shirts are $10 and sales will close on April 4 to ensure that all shirts arrive in time.

Every student needs a shirt to match their class. If you need assistance purchasing a shirt, please reach out to our counselor, Ms. Pena - yvonne.pena@lcisd.org. If you would like to donate to support a student in need, please reach out to Ms. Pena. Thanks!

March Beanstack Reading Challenge!

For the month of March, we are encouraging all of our students to participate in the Beanstack “Read Across Houston” reading challenge! This challenge has a goal of every student reading 450 minutes in the month of March. Districts across the Houston area are participating and I know our Williams Wranglers will show everyone where readers live in the Houston area! The top three schools in LCISD will even receive cash prizes from Beanstack. Log your minutes!

Let's rock this challenge and get into the grand prize category this go round!!

The event will be presented in English on Tuesday, April 12th 5pm to 5:30pm and in Spanish on Wednesday, April 13th 5pm to 5:30pm. Families with children 2 months to Pre-K are encouraged to attend.

Weekly Parent-School Connection

Connecting school and home makes us a great community of learners! You can also engage in learning by reading the weekly newsletter that usually goes out on Fridays from your homeroom teacher in Canvas. The weekly newsletter tells you what they will study in the upcoming week, any upcoming grades, and/or activities in class. #stayconnected

How Many Shoes?

Make a tally chart of all the shoes in your house. Who has the most? Who has the least? How many total pairs of shoes are in your house?

Make a tally chart of all the shoes in your house. Create a bar graph to show the data. Who has the most? Who has the least? What other information can you get from the data?

For example:

How many more pairs of shoes does Mom have than sister?

How many fewer pairs of shoes does Dad have than Mom?

How many pairs of shoes do brother and sister have in all?

How many total pairs of shoes are in our house?
