Anti-Bullying - Week of October 23th
Inclusion
Don't let anyone at school play alone on the playground. Include other students in games and activities at recess. Include other students in after school activities.
Be kind and inclusive in the classroom, in the cafeteria, at recess, on the bus, or at the park after school.
The WHERE, WHAT, WHY, HOW and WHO of BULLYING with Carolyn Brown
October 25th, 6-7:30pm
Join us for this very important conversation with Carolyn as we learn how to define bullying and find important tools to help protect our children from it's effects. Learning to advocate for ourselves and one another is a critical part of living in this social media driven society our kids are growing up in. This is not a discussion you will want to miss.
Carolyn has been giving this entertaining and emotionally engaging talk across the state this fall after presenting at Texas PTA's summer training conference, LAUNCH. She is a mom and a whip-smart advocate for children. She will be speaking to our kids in a series of inspirational seminars during the school day and will wrap up her time with us in a special talk just for parents. We are so grateful to have her with us for National Unity Day, the most important day of Bullying Awareness Month.
Please be advised that this evening talk does contain some heavier topics. Please plan for your kids to be engaged elsewhere. We will have some volunteer high school chaperones on the playground, should you need a nearby solution for you school-aged kids. Please contact us if you would like to leave your children with them and we will reserve you a space.
Safety Tip of the Week
- Drop-off for car riders in on the Oakview side of the school. Please do not drop students off on the Carlwood side.
- Do not make three-point or u-turns.
- Remember that you are in a school zone!
Thank for helping us keep our students safe.
