Farmington School Board Receives Annual Performance Report From Schools
At the November Board of Education Meeting, the Farmington R-7 School Board received a detailed presentation on the Annual Performance Data from Mrs. Amanda Sheets, the Assessment Coordinator. Principals from each school building provided insights into their respective school's performance data. The discussion highlighted how the latest results will be utilized to understand current student learning conditions in relation to the Missouri Learning Standards (MLS) under the guidelines of the Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP 6).
Celebrations of achievements included outperforming state averages and sustained growth in key areas, alongside action steps aimed at academic excellence and community engagement for the 2023-2024 school year. The data provided a comprehensive overview of the schools' performance, informing strategies to support and enhance student learning outcomes.

FSD To Offer Black Knight Insight - "Citizens In Our Schools" Community Cohort
The Black Knight Insights Program is an exciting new initiative that offers participants a deep dive into the inner workings of the Farmington R-7 School District. This transformative journey spans five months, from February to June, with gatherings scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month.
The program will begin with a bus tour of each of our campuses. During this tour, you’ll connect with your fellow participants and uncover lesser-known facts about our district and its schools. Subsequent sessions will build upon this foundation, offering a comprehensive insight into the resources, individuals, and strategies required to manage the Farmington School District.
Participants will:
- Gain insights into decision-making processes, curriculum, and our focus on equipping students with practical skills for real-world success.
- Experience a day in the life of our dedicated teachers and support staff, understanding how changing student demographics influence our services.
- Delve into school finance, exploring funding sources and where resources are allocated.
- Explore the role of extracurricular activities in enriching the student experience.
- Engage with public schools' complex challenges, including staffing shortages, funding issues, facilities, and student attendance and behavior.
- Understand the intricacies of hiring employees and the roles of our Board members and central office administrators.
- Get hands-on experience driving a school bus, assisting in cafeteria lunch service, and working alongside our committed custodians.
- Collaborate on a group project designed to positively impact the district, our staff, or one or more schools.

Academic Excellence and Future Focused Committee Meeting
The Farmington School District Academic Excellence and Future Focused Committee's meeting on December 14th aimed to foster student academic success and school improvement.
The committee focused on understanding and enhancing a student's journey through the Farmington School District by reviewing and planning programs and services. They discussed the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP), detailing the background and specifics of the plan. Additionally, they delved into Building Improvement Plans, evaluating current strategies, and planning future initiatives.
The meeting concluded with reflections and setting the next steps for continuing these efforts to support academic excellence and school improvement.Thank you to each of the members who attended this meeting.
FSD Health & Wellness Community Committee Meeting Held December 5th
In a recent meeting of the Farmington School District Wellness Committee, members gathered to discuss and work on various aspects related to the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) model and its impact on students in the community. The committee, composed of dedicated individuals representing different roles within the district, engaged in a productive session.
The committee delved into the significance of the WSCC model in guiding district infrastructures, aligning with the district's mission and goals, and supporting the holistic well-being of students. Members revisited the past strategic plan focal areas, including Mental Health Initiatives and Substance Abuse Initiatives, highlighting the progress made in these crucial domains. Committee members identified the top two wellness concerns for the student population and discussed their ties to WSCC components, supporting their choices with data and experiences.
As the Wellness Committee continues its dedicated efforts, it remains committed to the well-being of Farmington School District students, embracing a whole child approach that addresses not only academic success but also their physical, emotional, and social development.
Farmington School District Collaborates With Local Responding Agencies
Mr. John Krause, Farmington R-7 Safety Director, and Dr. Kyle Gibbs, Superintendent of Schools, recently joined forces with our local first responder agencies to bolster the school district's Emergency Management plans. This collaborative effort underscores the commitment to both community strengthening and the safety of our students and residents. By working hand in hand with first responders, Farmington is taking proactive steps to ensure a swift and effective response in the face of emergencies, ultimately safeguarding the well-being of our community.
