A Heartfelt Farewell and Exciting New Beginnings
Dear Bangor West Parents and Families,
I hope this message finds you well. It is with mixed emotions that I write to inform you that after eight incredible years of serving the students of Bangor West, I will be embarking on a new chapter in my career as the Dean of Students at my alma mater, Bay City Central. My last day at Bangor West will be February 23rd.
Reflecting on the past eight years, I am filled with gratitude and fond memories. Your unwavering support and the sense of community we've built together have made this experience truly remarkable. Bangor West has become a second home for me, thanks to the warmth and kindness of our families.
The staff and students at Bangor West are like no other, and the positive impact they've had on me and each other will continue to resonate in the years to come. I am confident that the school will continue to thrive and be a place of growth, inspiration, and innovation. The strong foundation we've built together sets the stage for ongoing success for our West families.
I want to express my sincerest gratitude for entrusting me with the privilege of being a part of your child's educational journey. Your support for my vision and goals has been instrumental in our collective achievements, and I am truly thankful for the difference we've made in your child's life.
As I transition to my new role, please know that Bangor West will always hold a special place in my heart. I will carry the memories of our time together and the relationships we've built with me to Bay City Central.
Thank you once again for an amazing eight years. I look forward to witnessing the continued success and growth of Bangor West from afar.
Warm regards,
Craig Pfenninger

February - Month for Black History and Heart Awareness
Throughout the month of February, we will recognize the struggles and adversity overcome by African Americans in our country, and celebrate all their accomplishments. We will also be encouraging people to focus on their cardiovascular health
Student Council
We have a student council again at Bangor West. These students will be helping model the "WEST Way" listed below. They will help support various events at school, make greeting cards for incoming students, give tours to new families and guest teachers, decorate our building, and much more. Our student council consist of two students per classroom for grades 3-5. We are excited to empower students while building leadership skills.
PASS Program Round 2
Hello! We will be starting our second session of our Providing Academic Support for Success
(PASS) program in February. Not all students will remain in the program as we'll make some shifts based on our new NWEA test scores and our spots available. A newsletter will go out to all current PASS families tomorrow (1-31) and any new candidates will be contacted to secure a spot.
Family Dance
With over 80 families and 350 people attending in the past, we are looking forward to a heavily attended event. Please make sure all kids are attended to by an adult at all times and this event is for Bangor West Families only.

Join our Bangor West team!
We are currently looking for an outside recess aide. Working hours are 10:45-12:45 each day, with a daily rate of $20.20 per day. Our recess aides go outside each day to assist on the playground. Recess aides are outside from 10:45 until 11:55. At that time they come into the building and assist with the cleaning of tables and trash. Just for Kids
