Twin Peaks Middle School
Weekly RAM Newsletter
A Brief Note from Dr. Burke
Dear Ram families,
This week is Red Ribbon Week. This campaign is a unified way for communities to take a stand against drugs and show intolerance for illicit drug use and their consequences. At Twin Peaks, we are committed to drug prevention education and a desire to live drug free lives with the ultimate goal being a drug free America. By wearing red ribbons and participating in anti-drug events our students pledge to live a drug-free life. Tomorrow is Sock it To Drugs day so wear your crazy socks. For a complete list of spirit days please check out the ASB website.
As you know, it is vital that our students feel safe and supported on all Poway Unified campuses and in our buildings. In unity, the middle school principals, together with our District Office and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), have created a video to kick off our No Place for Hate work for the 2019-2020 school year. Together we share the same message: hate is not welcome at our schools. We hope that you will join us in this work so we can support each and every one of our students throughout their middle school years.
Tomorrow during 1st lunch, the Environmental Club is meeting in Room 913 and the LIT Club is meeting in Room 910. Thursday morning you can head out to the quad and enjoy a performance from our TPMS Band. Finally, I want to remind you that next Monday, October 28th is a non-student day.
That’s it for now. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow and remember it's a 5/1/3 day.
Sincerely,
Dr. Burke
