Biography

Christopher Maurice Brown was born on May 5, 1989, in Tappahannock, a small town in Virginia. He was raised by his single mother and had no father to look up too. Chris always tried his hardest at everything whether it was karate, basketball or football because he just wanted to be active at all times. When Chris was younger, music in his household was an outlet and they would connect through it. Brown always loved to dance, sing, and perform since a baby. He watched MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice, and TLC. But who really inspired him was Michael Jackson and Pince.

But his mother always told him that God and church comes before everything, and every Sunday they went to church. The first time Chris performed was in church when he was a part of the choir.

He is know for landing R&B and pop hits that made him the best of the best, including "Run It!", "Kiss Kiss" and "Forever", all a part of his album "Chris Brown." Brown is known for his smooth voice and amazing dance moves. Chris Brown has many albums that have at least one song that made it to the Top 100. His genre of singing is Rap/Hip Hop and R&B, but he loves to sing about his love life or the girl of his dreams.

Education/Mentatorship

Chris Brown went to Essex High School in Virginia. After a school day Chris would go to the gas station to help out his father, and one day this guy came in and asked,"Yeah I what to work with some talent in his area, do you know any singers or any rappers?" Chris's dad tells the guy,"Hey my son sings!" From there Brown started to work with him and as he meet new people. One of the people he meet was Tina Davis, Def Jam Recording Studios manager. She wanted to hear him sing, and when she did she gave him a his first label at only 14 years old.

People only thought Chris could sing, but he could dance too and they found that out in his first music video "Run It". After that people started to realize that Chris wasn't just a one-hit wonder but he's here to stay.

Chris's first defining moment in his life was his first VMA performance. This performance wasn't only great, but it was defining for Chris.
