US CONSTITUTION DAY
A retired Texas judge will talk about the importance of the US Constitution in building our institutions and working as a society. The judge will also talk about how it is relevant in today's society and how it compares to more modern constitutions. Questions from participants will guide the discussion after the judge's opening remarks. Be ready with questions that will lead to a deeper understanding of the US Constitution. If you would like to send questions ahead of time, please send them to distancelearning@esc13.txed.netwith constitution in the subject line.

THE MARSHMALLOW CHALLENGE In connection with Global Collaboration Day
The Marshmallow Challenge is a remarkably fun and instructive design exercise that encourages teams to experience simple but profound lessons in collaboration, innovation and creativity. Get teams into a creative frame of mind and invest 40 minutes to run The Marshmallow Challenge. The task is simple: in eighteen minutes, teams must build the tallest free-standing structure out of 20 sticks of spaghetti, one yard of tape, one yard of string, and one marshmallow. The marshmallow needs to be on top.
Date: Thursday, September 17, 2015
Time: 10AM
Cost: FREE!
Length: 40 minutes
Group Size - 3-4 individuals
Supplies Needed PER GROUP
20 whole pieces of uncooked spaghetti - regular spaghetti works best, Angel Hair is too thin and Fettucini is too thick.
1 yard of string - groups should be able to cut or tear string to the desired length
1 yard of masking tape - do not put this in the bag or envelope....it makes a sticky mess
1 regular marshmallow - not jumbo, not mini
A brown lunch bag or envelope to hold supplies
Please visit the website for more information and to register for this event.
Today's Meet will be utilized as a back channel for communication and questions during the event.
