Welcome 6th grade families!
August 20th, 2015
Open House
I want to welcome all families, returning and new, to 6th grade! I am so excited to have all of the students and staff back in the school. In the next couple of days, the teachers will formally return to Merton (they've been working throughout the summer preparing for the school year ahead) to ready the classrooms for Open House and the school year. They cannot wait to meet you, get to know you better, and learn with you. Let's make this the best school year ever! On Wednesday, August 26th, we are having our annual Open House scheduled from 5:00-7:00. At this time you will get to meet your teachers, find your classrooms, get your picture taken for the yearbook and your ID, and learn about all of the ways to get connected with Merton Intermediate School. We are so excited to meet all of you!

Welcome our new staff!
We are excited to welcome our new staff to Merton Intermediate School. Pictured above, from left to right, is Mr. Wagner (7th/8th Science), Mrs. Senese (7th/8th Math), Mr. Jupp (Band), Mr. Middleton (7th grade Special Education), and Mr. Werni (Music, Choir, and Band). Please stop by to welcome them to our school at Open House.
6th grade schedule
Our 6th graders will start their day with specials (Art, Music, or Physical Education) and then move on to academic classes. Their lunch hour, which is shared with the 5th graders, is from 12:33-1:08. Students in 6th grade also have the option of joining band and/or choir this year, too! A more in depth explanation of the 6th grade schedule will be provided at our Open House.
Dress Code for 2015-2016 school year
We know that you are all probably preparing to buy new clothes for the upcoming school year. With that in mind, we have two simple rules for our student and staff dress code.
- No undergarments should be showing.
- If your arms are at your side and your fingers touch skin, what you're wearing is too short.
We appreciate your support with the enforcement of these dress code parameters.
Thanks to all of our custodial staff!
Our custodians did an awesome job cleaning the building, moving teachers into their new rooms, and just making everything look all shiny and new. Floors have been cleaned, carpets have been shampooed, the building has been painted, and the classrooms have been made ready for our students and staff. They have made our school look like new again.
