Administrators' Message 10/8/21
Dear Sandymount Families ~
As you may be aware, there are TikTok social media challenges that are encouraging disruptive and unacceptable behaviors in schools. Unfortunately, we have experienced occurrences in Carroll County in which students have engaged in behaviors aligned with these social media challenges. When these situations occur, students involved are held accountable in alignment with our Student Code of Conduct, which can be found here: Student Code of Conduct.pdf (carrollk12.org)
The influence of social media on our children is significant. Too often our children do not consider the negative ramifications of engaging in behavior that is sensationalized and promoted on social media platforms. These negative ramifications can include personal safety, law enforcement involvement, and school discipline. We are asking for your help to reduce the likelihood of our students engaging in these behaviors. Please talk with your child about school appropriate behavior and encourage them to share concerns with their teacher or school administration.
We appreciate the support of our students, staff, families, and community as we work ensure our schools are safe environments that promote a safe and welcoming environment that is conducive to student learning.
Have a great weekend!

Message from Mrs. Porter
Hello Sandymount Artists! Prepare your smocks!!
We are beginning some messy projects in Art that you will want to avoid getting your clothes dirty by covering them. A smock can be any extra article of clothing in which mostly covers your school day clothes. (Oversized T shirts are the best!)
If you are unable to arrive at art with a smock on, we do have extras here in the Art Room. However, we’d like to avoid having to share them if possible.
Let the mess commence!
Sandymount Spirit Days
Every Friday will be Sandymount Spirit Day! Please send your student to school wearing any Sandymount shirt or their class color to show their Sandymount Spirit!
Fun Run - October 14th
