Current Learning Update

First I would like to start by thanking all of our community both in-person and remote, as well as, our Wild Rose staff for putting health and safety first. I am incredibly proud and thankful for all of the hard work everyone has dedicated to each and every day. These are certainly unsettling times and the stress that everyone is feeling is honored and understood.

At this point, we do not know if we will pivot to an all remote learning environment. District administration is in close communication with the state and like the rest of the state, we wait to hear the government guidelines as it relates to our county.

This past Monday, the Wild Rose staff engaged in new and deeper learning of on-line tools and platforms. Many have already been used with students, however we can always learn and practice more.

I personally encouraged staff to practice with their classes and students working through a remote learning day. NOT because of anything specific, except that we have a unique opportunity to work with our in-person students on how to adapt and switch to remote should we need to. By allowing for this practice it will help students ask questions and trouble shoot tasks and understand where more practice may be needed.

If your child comes home and shares that they are working through remote platforms while in person, please know it is practice and is allowing for students to understand the expectations and tools used should we pivot to remote learning for a period of time.

As always if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out by phone or email to have further discussions. I can be reached at theresa.solomon@d303.org or by phone 331-228-3000.

Be well,

Theresa Solomon

Veterans Day

On Wednesday, November 11th we celebrated Veterans day with our Wild Rose community via a virtual assembly. Dr. Tucker, Mrs. Rollins, our fifth grade students both remote and in person and our scout groups did a wonderful job working together to honor our veterans. If you would like to view our assembly please see the video below.

YOU MATTER - Thursday, November 19th

Next Thursday will mark the one year anniversary of the passing of Dr. Robert Allison (Previous principal of Wild Rose Elementary). In an effort to celebrate the legacy and memory of Dr. Allison, Wild Rose will be celebrating all of our individual differences and continue to work with social emotional learning. We will all be reading the book, You Matter, by Christian Robinson. All remote staff has access to the book as well. We will not dwell in the passing of Dr. Allison, but celebrate through literacy and learning. Please also note that when we can gather and celebrate, the Learning Center of Wild Rose will be formally dedicated to Dr. Robert Allison.

I read You Matter with the Wild Rose Panther a few weeks ago. Please enjoy the reading of You Matter, by the author and illustrator, Christian Robinson below.

Remote Families Picture Pick Up

If your child came and had their school picture taken the pictures are in!

Please feel free to stop by Wild Rose and pick up your child's picture. Pictures will be in our vestibule arranged by class and in alphabetical order.

Picture retake day will be determined at a later date for anyone that was not able to make it on that day and is looking to have their child's picture taken and put in the Wild Rose Yearbook.

#D303 Thankful Campaign

November marks a season of Thanksgiving. Even in the current pandemic, there is so much to be thankful for in District 303. Over the next couple of weeks, we want to invite you to join us in taking a moment to express appreciation to staff members who have gone above and beyond in their work to support your children and/or family this school year. There are three ways that you can contribute to our #D303Thankful Campaign.

  • Write a note of appreciation to a staff member. You may download a notecard template on our website or create a note of your own to share.

  • Participate in our social media campaign by sharing a picture or thought using the hashtag #D303Thankful.

  • Share a story, note of appreciation, or photo on Let’s Talk using the D303Thankful button.

All of us in District 303 value your partnership, and appreciate your continued support of our district and schools.
