Dear Parents,

It has been a huge end to the term, with many fun and exciting activities going on throughout the school!

Thanks to all our staff for organising Science Week and Book Week activities, for the Book Week Parade and Pyjama Day, for our Runners Club that started on Wednesday afternoon and the teacher vs student netball match on Thursday! Thanks to Mrs Kinnest for umpiring and keeping the peace! A big thanks too, to our P&F for supporting us with a popcorn treat today!

Weeks like this are a lot of fun for our students. While combining them can make for a big week logistically, we believe that it is a great way to celebrate the end of term and importantly, it keeps teaching and learning time free from distractions during the rest of the term!

I hope you all have a great holiday, and we look forward to seeing you on Tuesday the 18th July!

Birds of Prey Incursion - what Pre-Primary thought .........

After their excursion to Sculptures by the Sea earlier in the term, our Year 4 classes had a Learning Walk in their classrooms today where they showcased artistic sculptures to staff and students in the school. Students from all ages visited and were amazed at the quality of the creative sculptures on display. Alongside the sculptures, the Year 4’s provided additional information with oral or PowerPoint presentations explaining their work which they had prepared during English lessons. It was great to see the result of a project that incorporated various learning areas and skills, well done Year 4!

Here's what to expect

If your child is in years 3 - 6 they are welcome to join.
Students will meet outside the Year 6 classrooms by 3:05pm on Wednesday afternoons.
Our session structure - WARM UP/ TECHNIQUE/ RUN SESSION/ WARM DOWN
In some of our Run Sessions we will be doing the beep test, cross country running, hill work and sprinting.
We are also happy to take more registrations at the start of next term, please use the link below.
We ask that all students come to each session with enthusiasm and behave in accordance with our school rules.
Overall, we are really looking forward to building up our endurance and running capacity at Bernie's.
