First Eucharist Weekend Ideas
St. Joseph Parish
We are a community striving together for Heaven
Bummed, Yet Confident
Bummed...that's all I can think of as I write this. I am so bummed for our kids that will be missing out on their First Eucharist this weekend. However, I am also confident in the fact that your child will receive Jesus in the Eucharist! We don't know the date yet, but continue to reassure your child and let them know we are praying for them and I hope they are praying for each other. It's not easy to wait...especially for those who are this age, right?!? Please help reassure your children!
What can I do to make this weekend special?
Attend St. Joe's Facebook Live Mass with special blessing
"Attend" Mass at St. Joe's this weekend by following the link below. We will start at 10:30 and you don't have to have a Facebook account to do so. Participate as fully as you can. Read along with readings, sing along with songs, kneel and stand when we normally do. Stay until the end when Father Kevin will say a special blessing for all of you who would have been receiving your First Eucharist this weekend!

Practice receiving
Mrs. Kaiser and Ms. Collins have created two videos below to teach you the steps of receiving the Eucharist. We'd love for you to have your child "practice" receiving the Eucharist at home today and send us a quick video of them doing it! We'd love to see them in the video. Send to akaiser@stjoesbb.com and/or acollins@stjoesbb.com. Thank you!

Visit Jesus in Adoration
St. Joe's doors are open daily from 9-6, and from 5-6 daily, you can visit Jesus in a special way during Adoration. Jesus is exposed in the Monstrance on the church altar. Just spending time with Jesus in this way and telling Him you are very excited to receive Him in the Eucharist and to ask Him to help you have patience!
Waiting for First Eucharist is Hard...but you can do hard things!
This video was mentioned during an online class I am attending and I wanted to share it with all of you. It was produced by Mary Sue Reutebuch, Director of Family & Youth Formation at St. Catherine of Alexandria. Thank you for sharing, Mary Sue!!
It suggests writing a letter to Father Kevin, telling him how excited you are to receive Jesus in the Eucharist. What a fun idea!
