RHHS Wildcats News You Can Use
#WEARERH 8/12/22 #WEARERH
Wildcat Family,
The first full five-day week of school has concluded, it has been another great week of high engagement, active collaboration and students meeting and exceeding the expectations set forth! This coming week on Thursday, August 18, 2022, we invite you to attend Curriculum Night (6-7 pm)! While our Open House was virtual, this will be a true opportunity for you not only to meet the staff in person, learn about the high school approach, but also to see the renovations firsthand and learn more about our extracurricular offerings! Please see the flyer below for additional information.
With the start of the school year, this is a start to many of our extracurricular activities as well. If your child has yet to find a connection with a club, athletic team or fine arts venture please peruse our website for additional information on how to get them connected. As mentioned previously, being connected in the high school setting is one of the greatest avenues to success with regards to academics, attendance, and behavior! Our goal is to continue to cultivate opportunities where students can truly become part of #ouRHouse!
This week in advisement students not only reviewed the requirements to successfully complete high school, but also did some work/research by completing their on credit check after reviewing their transcripts. While this may seem like a simple task, this task provided students an opportunity to chart their HS pathway, courses, etc. while also reviewing what classes they would ultimately need to walk across the stage on graduation day! I encourage you to speak with your child about advisement this week engaging them in questions such as:
- What pathway are you taking?
- What courses do you anticipate engaging with in years to come?
- What goals have you set for yourself?
- How will you accomplish those goals as you work through high school?
- How can I help you prepare and organize yourself for success?
A few reminders now that your student has settled in, learned their schedule, the lay of the school, etc.:
- 1st Block begins at 7:30 am; 4th Block ends at 2:30 pm.
- Breakfast/Lunch is not "free" this year: Breakfast: $2.25; Lunch $3.25
- Dress Code: If it's made for the beach, ball park or bed leave it at home. No hats, midriffs, short shorts/skirts and absolutely no pajamas! Come prepared to learn!
- Review the traffic patterns, this will protect your child and the other 2,500. Please be considerate and not try to park in the student lots in an effort to avoid the carline - this is not appropriate and impacts our ability to keep all students safe and traffic flowing properly.
Please continue to use this newsletter as a source of “just in time” information to keep you up to date on the happenings at RHHS! If there is something you are interested in, looking for or just have questions about please don’t hesitate to use the form at the bottom of the newsletter to submit your inquiries. We continue to value the partnership we have with the families of our students! If we can ever be of assistance please don't hesitate to reach out, send an email, make a phone call or visit us in person! Our ultimate goal is to make RHHS #ouRHouse, while sustaining a positive culture that is focused on social, emotional and academic success for our students!
See ya, Love ya, Bye!
