Kinetic Energy
One type of energy is Kinetic energy. The definition of this energy is, the energy of an object that is due to the object's motion. A roller coaster is a very good example of kinetic energy. When you are at the highest peek of the roller coaster that would be potential energy, but as you go down the hill that would be kinetic energy.
Potential Energy
Potential energy is when something is at its maximum point, like as if you were to pull back the bow and arrow in the picture, the bow is at its maximum length of being completely pulled back. Once you let go of the sting, the arrow goes flying and when it is at its highest speed then that is when it is in potential energy, once the arrow slows down and hits an object or finally falls to the ground then it had no energy.
Other Types of Energy
Thermal Energy- Heat Energy
Electrical Energy- Produces electricity
Sound Energy- To produce sound
Light Energy- Production of Light
This picture goes with all four of these energies, because lightning is just a bunch of electricity, and when lightning strikes it makes a sound. Lighting also contributes to going along with Thermal energy because lightning is just a bolt full of heat and electricity.
Friction
Friction is a force that opposes motion between two surfaces that are in contact. You can not over come friction, no matter how hard you try. There is friction in everything, like say you are driving a car, well there is friction between the wheels and the road as you are driving.
Friction
This picture shows friction by showing that the box is causing friction to the ground.
