NVLA MAP Winter Testing 21-22
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Each year, CCSD students in grades K-10 participate in the reading and math MAP assessment. Students in Grades 3-8 also participate in the MAP science assessment. These assessments take place three times per year, during the fall, winter, and spring. From November 29 to December 17, 2021, your child will take the online MAP® Growth™ assessment for the winter benchmark. Due to distance learning, the assessment will be completed by students remotely. I ask for your cooperation so we can successfully administer the assessment with the least minimal disruption to your child’s learning as possible. Please refer to the test preparation tips below for specific instructions.
MAP measures what students already know and what they are ready to learn next. Teachers will use this data to facilitate conversations with students about their learning and to set personalized growth goals. MAP also provides data to customize lessons to meet each child’s instructional needs.
MAP tests are unique in that they adapt to your child’s level of learning. When your child answers a question correctly, the test follows it with a more challenging question. When your child answers incorrectly, the test follows with an easier question. As a result, each student has the same opportunity to succeed and maintain a positive attitude while testing. We STRONGLY request that students complete the test independently and without assistance to ensure the most accurate data is collected.
Together, we can have a profound positive effect on the lives of our students.

Sincerely,
Michael Martin
Principal

Savers FUNDrive
Nevada Learning Academy went from having 450 students to over 8,000 students within a year due to the pandemic. We are a group of like-minded parents who believe that just because we are not ready to send our children back in face-to-face school, they also shouldn't miss out on having the best school year of their lives. We now turn to parents, teachers, and community members to help us raise funds to pay for virtual and non-virtual activities and events by simply donating items no longer needed
We Are Collecting
Clothes
men's, women's and children's clothes, coats, shoes, scarves, handbags, wallets, fashion accessories, ties, belts, backpacks, etc.
Household Textiles
bedding, comforters, blankets, sheets, towels, linen, tablecloths, curtains, pillows, etc.
Please gather clothes and household textiles in bags.
All items must be clean and in sellable condition.

Helpful Tips for Online Learning
NVLA does not use Google Classroom. Students access their coursework through Canvas. You can find Canvas by going to clever.ccsd.net and logging in with your school email, then choose Canvas.
Cookies Required Message
If you get the Cookies Required message when you log in to Canvas from Clever here are a couple of workarounds:
1. Look on the blue Canvas menu bar on the left side of your screen to see if there is a key with "Log in" under it. Click it and see if it logs you in. If not;
2. Look at the address bar and delete everything after the question (?) mark, then press enter, that should log you in.
Please submit a help ticket if this problem continues to occur.
