Overdues: NICE JOB RESOLVING

Thank you very much for helping your students resolve their library records. It is a lovely treat to have children feel confident and happy when coming to the library to borrow!

*Someone asked me the other day how I feel about classrooms borrowing 30-50 books for their students to enjoy... YES, ABSOLUTELY, PLEASE!

Three events in the next month:

1. Author Visit with Alan Gibbons, February 21st.

2. Book Breakfast, February 28th.

3. Book Character Day/World Book Day, March 7th.

ROOM TO READ!

The Read-a-Thon for Room to Read fundraising has finished. We received 190 forms from children who participated in the read-a-thon.

We have raised $100,000 HKD so far! If your students still have a form, please turn it in ASAP. Thank you.

Additionally, for information on what Room to Read is, please visit this site:http://www.roomtoread.org/

We anticipate celebrating the success of our Read-a-Thon this spring on World Book Day, March 7th with a book character day!

Drowning in new books, still!

We would appreciate parent helpers being sent to the library if they're done in your room! 20 minutes or more really does help us get more new books covered. It is unbelievable how many we have left to cover.

FAVORITE BOOKS OF THE MONTH:

THANK YOU for trying out Tumblebooks, love hearing from teachers who are using it at lunchtime! Not 1, Not 2, but 3 authors are visiting Bradbury this year!

BORROWING STATS:

We are excited about book circulation:

We've been loaning out books left and right AND receiving them back as well! There's loads of shelving that accompanies this process. We're grateful for parent volunteers and student librarians who keep us afloat! From half-term until now students, staff and community members have borrowed: 3800 books!

Thanks for reading!

We look forward to accommodating your needs. Thank you for supporting our huge projects, sharing your teaching/co-teaching/book pull/team requests, adjusting to Debbie's style and welcoming her, and enjoying the library!
