From the Principal
They are the reason we are here. We held the last concert of the year and it turned out to be very entertaining. Vocal music had several combinations of students with a variety of songs. Students did a good job of presenting the music and keeping the flow going. The instrumental concert had several combos, large groups, and the ever-popular Thunderbeats. Good times.
Track season- another story with the weather. We have had to jumble track meet, move practices and try to keep the momentum going. Currently waiting on the decision on when and where to have the League meet. Fingers crossed the weather cooperates.
Each grade level is in the works of planning for the end of the year activities. 7th grade has assembled an amazing group of volunteers, vendors and professionals for their “Down on the Farm” day. Former teacher Traci Wilson that now owns Rock Creek Lodge has graciously allowed us to use the property for the day and is 100% involved with the planning. May 10th is the field trip- if your schedule allows please join them at Rock Creek Lodge. 8th grade is busy with the planning of the color war, staff/student games, promotion practice, and other fun things. Busy busy time!!!
Overall this year has been one that students have shown tremendous growth, not only with academics but with their personal development. We have enjoyed working with each one and are ready to press the reset button for preparation of next school year. Thank you for your support throughout the year.
It’s a Great day to be a T-Bird.

Reminders for 8-grade Parents
As the end of the school year nears, students and staff are busy wrapping-up projects and getting ready for Promotion.
Below are highlights of what’s coming in the next two weeks. If you have any questions, check-in with your student, then email any 8th-grade teacher or call 778-1470.
Promotion practice will take place at CHS the morning of May 16th. Students will return to
CMS for lunch and afternoon classes. If your student has an appointment and/or might be that morning, please call the office at 778-1470 to check where we are before coming to CMS!
Promotion will be held Monday, May 20th in the CHS Gymnasium at 7 pm. Students should report to the Turf Room no later than 6:30 pm. All fees must be paid prior to promotion in order to participate. Contact Emma Trier at CMS with any questions and to make payment.
PROMOTION DRESS CODE
We would like to issue a gentle reminder that all students are to wear black pants and their class t-shirt. Class t-shirts will be handed out on Thursday, May 16th. If your student is not dressed according to this policy, they will not be allowed to participate in the promotion ceremony. If acquiring black pants creates a hardship for your family, please see a teacher or administrator!
Reminders for 7th-grade Parents
Parents should have received an informational email regarding the May 10th field trip for 7th grade. If students haven't turned in their $2.00 to Mr. Slane, it's due Wed. May 1st. Also, if students need a sack lunch fixed by the school, an email needs to be sent to Mrs. Wishart (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Ms. May (email@example.com) also by Wed. May 1st.
Chromebook check-in for 7th-grade
For 7th-grade students who take their Chromebooks home--7th-grade will be checking in both Chromebooks and chargers on Monday, May 20. Students need to make sure they bring their charger with them that day. Students will be charged $45 if chargers aren't returned and $300 for Chromebooks that aren't returned.
End of the year note from the 7th-grade team
The end of the year is quickly approaching. Please encourage your student(s) to continue working in his/her classes and to finish the year strong. Thank you, 7th-grade parents, for sharing your sons and daughters with us this year. It's been a privilege to watch each of them adjust to life as a middle school student, balancing more responsibility, extra-curricular activities, academics, and navigating the social scene. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be a part of this.
