Letter from the Principal

Dear Lions Park Families,

We hope your children are enjoying their day off from school! We appreciate your patience with days off such as these. I know it is difficult to have non-attendance days, but this is valuable time for our staff to learn together and collaborate. Today we were all at Lincoln Middle School for professional development. On Tuesday we will be meeting with many of you for parent and teacher conferences.

We look forward to having the opportunity to meet with you on November 1st, 7th and 17th for parent and teacher conferences! These meetings provide a valuable opportunity for you to talk face-to-face with your child’s teacher about his or her academic, social, and emotional growth. You can make the most of these conferences by writing down things you wish to discuss. This may include questions you have for the teacher or information you wish to share about your child. These conferences are most beneficial when sharing is done by teacher and parents. Also, if there is particular information you want from the teacher that he or she may not have at their fingertips, you could send an e-mail in advance with a heads-up about what you are seeking. In addition to attending the scheduled conference with your child’s homeroom teacher, our other teachers are also available on those evenings. Feel free to contact them to set up a time to talk.

We are excited to celebrate Halloween at Lions Park on October 31st. If you plan to bring your child home for lunch on Halloween, please fill out this form today. If the form is not filled out, you will have to sign your child out in the office which will take up time since there may be others in the same situation.

Last week, I sent an email about signing up for parent and teacher conferences on November 1st, 7th or 17th. Please go to the Online Conference Sign Up Link to select your time. Most conferences will be in person, but we will have Zoom conferences available at select times on the afternoon of November 1st.

As always, don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Warmly,

Katie Kelly
