CHHS DEbate Team

Congratulations to the debate team for their performance at the Hockaday School debate tournament this past weekend. Over 40 schools from North and Central Texas competed. The majority of our students who attended had winning records, which speaks to the work they have been accomplishing in recent weeks.

The following students participated in the elimination rounds:

Alisha Samani, Semifinalist out of 50 Lincoln Douglas competitors

Marina Leventis & Aleena Jamal, Semifinalist out of 72 Public Forum team competitors

Alina Shivji & Miranda Nutt, 1st place in the Public Forum division; Miranda was also the 2nd place speaker in the division. Their finish fully qualifies them for the Tournament of Champions tournament in Kentucky in late April.

CHHS Panther Drumline members successful at International Percussion Convention

CHHS Percussion students traveled to San Antonio this past weekend to take part in the Percussive Arts Society International Convention. They enjoyed world-class clinics, performances and had the opportunity to meet international renowned artists. Five CHHS students competed in the Percussive Arts Society International High School Solo Competition and all five of them placed in the top 5!

A special congratulations to:

Sophomore Nick Sabre and Junior Lester Rushin, tied for 5th place, Senior Damien Houran 4th place, Senior David Siebenberg 2nd place, and Junior Jarrod Berger (pictured) who was named the Percussive Arts Society High School International Solo Champion!

Way to go Panther Drumline!
