Principal's Message

We would like to say THANK YOU to all of you who helped celebrate your child's teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week this week! Your kindness and generosity are truly appreciated and the recognition really makes a difference! THANK YOU also to our incredible PTO as they spoiled our staff this week! We are so appreciative of your kindness!!!

In other news, our Lost and Found at GRE is once again overflowing. Parents, please take time to check it next time you are in the school and/or encourage your child to check it. What is left at the end of the school year will be donated.

It's almost time to order your school supply kits!

While this school year is coming to an end, it's time to look forward to next year!!!

We once again are partnering with Teacher Tailored for our School Kidz Supply Kits.

Save the time, headache, and scrambling by purchasing a prepackaged kit (Grades KG-5). Each kit is grade specific and contains exactly what the teachers have requested! And because the items are purchased in bulk, the kits cost less than going to a box store PLUS the school receives a percentage of the sales! They will be sorted and delivered to the classrooms waiting for your student at Sneak Peek.

The sale will begin next week so be on the lookout for an email with the sale link!!!

More from our PTO - We would love for you to get involved!

WE NEED YOU! Being a parent at GRE means you are already a member of our PTO as there are no dues to join! But if you are looking for ways to become more involved in your child's school, we have what you need! We are in search of a few officer and chairperson positions for our PTO. See the positions below and please contact Danielle Rezin at drezin@usd458.org if you would like to help with any of these roles/activities.

Field Day is coming up!

Hey parents, we would love to have you volunteer at our Field Day! We will have Field Day on Wednesday, May 17 with our rainout day being Thursday, May 18.

Field Day 2023

At the end of the scheduled activities (at 2:45), we will plan to have an all school tug-a-war and you may get to participate so please consider coming! We will have each class battling another class and the class winner will go against staff. If time allows, we can have the winner go against the parents so you won't want to miss!

*Participation will of course be voluntary and we will not hold the tug-a-war if it's too muddy.

Shout out to our SCHOOL LUNCH HEROS!

We want to thank our fabulous kitchen crew for all they do to take care of our students for breakfast and lunch! They are vital to the success of our students and school! Thank you to Jill Colobong, Rebekah Chesney and Amy Thomas for all you do for GRE!!!

From the Library

It’s hard to believe that we are ending April. The calendars are filling up. Here are a few important dates to know from the library.

May 8-12th is the last week for checking out library books. ALL books are due back in the library May 19th . Thanks to everyone who has worked hard at returning overdue books lately. It is so helpful as we prepare for end of the year inventory! We are going to be looking at Award winning books for all grades the rest of the year!

As always, thank you for your support of reading and of the library. Any questions or concerns please make sure to reach out.

3rd grade guest speaker!

Third grade has been busy learning about clouds and weather! This week, Alena Lee from KCTV 5 came to talk to our students about different types of weather and what her job as a meteorologist entails. She even did an experiment to make a cloud inside a bottle! The third graders learned a lot and asked lots of good questions that will lead us deeper into our weather unit in the coming weeks!
