Weekend fun
Our ambassadors spent their last full weekend having fun with their host families. Several of them have said they don't want to leave and that this time went by too quickly. The host families have done a wonderful job at making them feel at home and showing them all the beautiful places in Costa Rica. Some of the students went back to the beach this weekend. I got to tag along to a volcano and a dairy farm this weekend.
Waterfall Gardens Field Trip
The last field trip took place today at La Paz Waterfall Gardens, a private park and animal sanctuary. Our ambassadors got to see exotic animals, such as toucans, hummingbirds, sloths, tree frogs, snakes, pumas, jaguars and several types of monkeys. After the zoo visit, we toured a typical Costa Rican house. We sampled some tea, tamales and cheese made the old fashioned way. Finally, we walked down several steps to see the waterfalls. There were 5 total waterfalls, all of them were breathtaking!
