Principal's Message

Next week is The Great Kindness Challenge week at Sequoia. Here's the kindness line-up each day...

Monday: Kindness Kick Off Assembly (students will receive and begin The Great Kindness Challenge check-list!)

Tuesday: Kindness to the earth and animals (Pick up trash, recycle, walk or play with a pet)

Wednesday: Kindness to self (Healthy Lunch Day Round 2-bring a lunch packed with healthy foods, exercise-ride a bike or go for a walk after school)

Thursday: Kindness to another class and peers (each class will be assigned another class to do something kind for)

Friday: Peace Love and Kindness (Spirit Day: Wear your favorite tie dye clothes, 70's attire or Sequoia spirit wear)

You can also take part in the challenge at home. Download The Great Kindness Challenge Family Edition App for free to start checking off acts of kindness as a family! We've had a great month of kindness and I'm excited to amp up the kindness next week!

In my last newsletter I described the Local Control Accountability Plan and how it impacts our school and district. It is time to get feedback on our LCAP from parents. I've had great feedback and suggestions on the LCAP so far and I'd like to offer another opportunity for parents who can make it in the morning. Join me on January 31st at 8:30am in the MPR for coffee and LCAP!

Lastly, I wanted to let you know that we have set aside dates for the end of year state testing. I know it is early to start thinking about this but it's important that you know now so you can plan vacations and appointments around that time to ensure that students are present at school each day.

Save the Dates for:

3rd and 4th grade testing week: April 29th-May 2nd

5th and 6th grade testing week: May 6th-May 10th

Hope you have a great weekend!
