CCUSD TOYS & GIFTS DRIVE OR DONATE YOUR TIME AT THE FOOD PANTRY COLLECTION
Are you doing a little holiday shopping this weekend? Wondering how you can help others in our community during this season?
You can donate to the CCUSD Toy and Gifts Drive and/or donate your time at the Food Pantry Collection at Culver City Pavilions.
CCUSD is helping to make this season fun for all students. This year we have seen an increase in the need for items for students aged 15-18/.
El Marino will be providing collection bins (by the front office) next week from Monday, December 12 - Wednesday, December 14th.
If you are able to donate an item, here are some suggestions:
NEW Unwrapped toys
NEW Unwrapped sporting goods ( e.g. basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, etc)
Gift cards from nearby businesses (e.g. Taco Bell, 7-11, Target, Starbucks, Mateo's Ice Cream, etc.)
Another opportunity to help is to volunteer for the CCUSD Food Pantry from Saturday, December 17 - Sunday, December 18th from 10:00am - 5:00pm at Pavilions, or donate food items if you're making a grocery trip that weekend (see attached flyer). To volunteer signup here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0d49abab2faafd0-backpacks
Thank you for any donation you can make whether a gift or your time! We appreciate your help!
CCUSD YOUTHTRUTH SURVEY FOR FAMILIES/GUARDIANS
Dear Families,
CCUSD is asking for parent participation in the anonymous YouthTruth Family Survey.
This survey gives parents and guardians the opportunity to provide feedback for their child's school in areas like culture, engagement, relationships, communication & feedback, school safety, and resources.
CCEF END OF YEAR CHARITABLE DONATIONS
Dear families/guardians:
If you are considering any year-end charitable donations, CCEF would like to encourage you to make a gift to the Culver City Education Foundation to help provide vital resources for all of our students.
You can donate directly through our website: https://ccef4schools.org/donate/
A donation of any amount will be well-invested to support essential programs at our school.
Thank you!!

FROM OUR YEARBOOK COMMITTEE
INSTRUCTIONS
- This year’s theme title is: “Be a Rainbow in Someone Else’s Cloud.” -Maya Angelou
Because the theme is a quote you have to include the author’s name “Maya Angelou”
A Dolphin (our school mascot) is optional. So be creative! - The cover art must include the following words, “El Marino Language
School Yearbook” and “2022-2023” as part of the design. And, the title, “Be a Rainbow in Someone Else’s Cloud.” Maya Angelou - Please do not put your name on the cover. Instead, write your name, teacher’s name, and room # on the back of the artwork.
- Size: 8.5”x11” and must be in color! (paint, markers, colored pencils, crayons, etc)
- We highly recommend using a thicker cover stock. Also using a thin black marker to outline the illustration and coloring in with colored pencils or thin markers seems to have the best clarity.
- The artwork must be in portrait format, not landscape (i.e. vertically oriented)
- Due Date: Friday, February 3, 2023. Please turn it into the front office of the school by the end of the day. Any work that comes in after the due date will not be accepted. ** Winners will be announced via Dolphin Splash in February.
** There will be 1 winner and 4 runner-ups. (The runner-ups will be on the back cover). The front cover winner will receive a free yearbook!
